INFO DIARY of the family voyage from London to Australia in 1853 written by son Flavius Josephus Kingsford describes injuries that Hannah received when Hannah with baby Harriette in her arms and a cabin chest and other furnishings were thrown about in heavy seas. Hannah suffered a dislocated ankle, a broken leg, and many bruises. Flavius said that he and the Second Mate were able to set the bone and joint. Flavius and sister Augusta stayed up all night to "constantly bathe it in vinegar and water." The accident happened May 3. On June 11 Flavius reported "Mother is every day improving." Note NOTE: Hannah's death cert shows 2 sons and 1 dtr dead, in addition to 6 living children. Need to find records for 1 son and 1 dtr.
