He moved to the WA goldfields in the 1890s and then to Perth WA where he made a name for himself chiefly as a football coach. He coached the 1st WA side to beat Victoria in 1921. I think his wife was THYRZA and one of my aunts was named Thyrza. However I understand my g/mother's maiden name was SWINBOURNE. His father was HUGH LECKIE and born in Ballantrae (family info only).
