The Argus (Melbourne, Vic.) 4 Apr 1934 HARRISON.--On the 28th March, at his residence 27 Gurr street, East Geelong, James Henry Harrison, the dearly loved husband of May, and loving father of Bert, Harry (deceased), Lily (Mrs. A. J. Snell), Lulu (Mrs. J. Meagher), Ethel, Hilda (Mrs. A. McDonald), Una (deceased), Thurza (Mrs. W. L. Williams), Arthur, and Harry. Ex-inspector, Victorian Railways. INFO DEATH NOTICE. The Argus (Melbourne, Vic.) 5 April 1934. "The death occurred at Geelong last week of Mr. J. H. Harrison, who was born at Singleton (N.S.W.) in 1846, and was one of the pioneers of the Victorian railways. He began in the service of the Hobson's Bay Company and later joined the State department. In 1870 he was sent to Bendigo, and he remained there for nearly 40 years. Mr. Harrison was presented by the Railways department with a gold medal for his services during a strike by railway-men at Bendigo. He reitred in 1905 and finally settled in Geelong. He was married in 1865 to Miss Louisa Poolman, and a family of three sons and five daughters by his first marriage survive him. He leaves a widow living at Geelong. The funeral took place at the Eastern Cemetery at Geelong on Good Friday. (ArgusTro.)
