INFO ORPHAN TRANSPORT. Report of Quarrier's Orphan Homes of Scotland, 1894. 117 orphan girls from Glasgow were passengers on the S.S."Pomeranian" sailing June 1 1894 from Glasgow to Quebec. Mr. and Mrs. Burges of the Quarrier organization accompanied the girls. Their destination was an orphan home in Canada -- Canadian Distributing Home, Fairknowe, Brockville, Ont., Canada. (QuarOrphHom 1894 p.47-48) NOTE: there is a story in the McGinty/McEachern families that the Rainey/Rennie sisters were in some way responsible for or connected with the group of orphans. No details are known.

For the remaining children, all are born in Pennsylvania with father born Scotland and mother born England. Son James, age 13, single, speaks English, can read and write. Son Hugh age 7.
