INFO ORPHAN TRANSPORT. Report of Quarrier's Orphan Homes of Scotland, 1894. 117 orphan girls from Glasgow were passengers on the S.S."Pomeranian" sailing June 1 1894 from Glasgow to Quebec. Mr. and Mrs. Burges of the Quarrier organization accompanied the girls. Their destination was an orphan home in Canada -- Canadian Distributing Home, Fairknowe, Brockville, Ont., Canada. (QuarOrphHom 1894 p.47-48) NOTE: there is a story in the McGinty/McEachern families that the Rainey/Rennie sisters were in some way responsible for or connected with the group of orphans. No details are known. 
Note NOTE: The McEachern family immigrated to Canada in 1894 and probably remained there until 1898 or 1899, when they moved to Philadelphia. A daughter was born in Canada in Aug. 1894.
