INFO | OBITUARY. Evening Daily Free Press, Redding, Cal. 5 Aug 1902. "Merchant Weigele Dies Unexpectedly. Charles W. Weigele of the Redding Harness Company died at his home on Pine street at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning. Death was due to consumption of the bowels. Three weeks ago Mr. Weigele was taken sick. He has failed to imporove but his condition was not considered dangerous until Monday. Then he began to sink steadily until death came. Charles Weigele was born at Chico thirty years ago. He leaves a wife and two sons, a boy of seven and another of nine months. He came to Redding about January 1st from San Francisco and with J. W. Bringham bought out G. W. Schiller and started the Redding Harness Company. Mr. Weigele and family made many friends. He had joined the Redding Fire Department. The body will be taken to Chico Wednesday night for burial."
