He was the son of Sir Alfred Butt, 1st Bt. and Georgina Mary Say. He married, firstly, Kathleen Breen Farmar, daughter of Edward Farmar, on 3 October 1938. ...[They] were divorced in 1948. He married, secondly, Marie Josephine Bain, daughter of John Bain, on 5 August 1948. He died on 10 February 1999 at age 90. Sir Alfred Kenneth Dudley Burr, 2nd Bt. usually went by his middle name of Kenneth. He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England . ... [and] Brasenose College, Oxford Univeristy. .... He gained the rank of Major in ... the Royal Artillery (Territorial Army) ... in the Second World War.
