From 13 March to 22 May 1876 at No.5 Alice Cottages Plaistow Road,West Ham Essex, "the said Mary Farmar and William Neville lived together as man and wife and on divers occasions committed adultery together." He petitions to dissolve the marriage. signed by Thomas Shrewsbury Farmar. File includes the marriage certificate. 10 Jun 1878 response from co-respondent William Neville via his solicitor Thomas Willis. Neville denies the adultery, was "ignorant that the said Mary Farmar was a married woman." . . . 16 July 1978 - case ordered to be "heard by oral evidence before the Court itself." 18 Feb 1879 - "Petitioner in person set down the Cause & filed Notice." 4 Mar 1879 "Petitioner in person issued subpoena ad test."
