Child Henry James Deadman (Jim) b. 10 May 1854. Oct-Nov 1854 Edward preparing to move to Wairarapa. 8 Jan 1855 left Wellington; 13 Jan arrived Masterton. 30 Jan 1855 earthquake. House finished later "Ivy Cottage". 1848 Emily's father died. 1857 her mother to NZ. July 1857 Edward's brother James & wife Maryann her sister moved to Melbourne. 2 Aug 1857 dtr Emily baptized. Next two children Maryann & William. 1863 moved to Dunedin. Son Samuel Pearce born there. Jim & Emily died from scarlet fever. William of diphtheria. Four more children: Alfred Freemantle, Ellen Jane, Percy Seymour and baby who died. Emily's mother d.1871, 1874 Maryann d. in Melbourne.
